Super Plasticity of /α Duplex Stainless Steels
Authors
Abstract:
In this paper the studies of the two-phase super Plasticity stainless steels is studied. The aim of this study obtained the suitable criteria to thermo-mechanical treatment condition for decrease the microstructure (grain size) and super plasticity property in two-phase stainless steels. Also here we want to show the appropriate ranges of temperature and strain rate used in the process super plasticity to obtain maximum elongation for this kind of steel. The results showed that by using thermo-mechanical treatment that consists of dissolving, rolling and annealing, the grain size can be achieved to 0.5-4 μm. The maximum elongation is achieved 1000% in the temperature range 800-1000˚C and strain rate is achieved 0.01-0.1 s-1. Under these conditions, the sensitivity coefficient of strain rate is around 0.6

Orthodontic stainless-steel appliances are considered to be corrosion resistant, but localized corrosion can occur in the oral cavity. This study was undertaken to evaluate the properties of super stainless steels in orthodontic applications. Accordingly, the metallurgical properties, mechanical properties, corrosion resistance, amount of the released nickel, cytotoxicity, and characteristics o...
full textCorrosion performance of welds in duplex, superduplex and lean duplex stainless steels
To achieve good corrosion resistance in a weld is much more challenging than for plate or sheet material, which has undergone controlled rolling, heat treatment and pickling processes in the steel mill. The choice of weld procedure and parameters, filler metal and shielding gas all play important roles. For duplex and lean duplex grades it is essential to ensure that an adequate amount of auste...
full textInfluence of Initial Microstructure on Hot Deformation Behavior of Duplex Stainless Steels
In this research the effect of initial microstructure on hot deformation behavior in terms of Ferrite-to-Austenite ratios is studied. Two types of stainless steels C1 and C2 were homogenizing heat-treated and deformed under hot compression examinations at temperatures 900ºC and 1100ºC at strain rate of 0.1s-1. The results showed that the flow stress levels of specimens are strongly r...
